Ph.D (Residential / Executives)

  1. A candidate seeking admission to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) must have obtained a Post-graduate degree or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 6.00 on a 10-point scale or 60% in marks or four-year professional degree with a CGPA of 7.50 on a 10-point scale or 75% in marks or have qualified CA, ICWA / ACS. A relaxation of 5% in marks or 0.5 in CGPA may be allowed for SC/ST/Differently-Abled candidates.
  2. Part-time studies leading to a PhD degree are permitted for professionally employed candidates. Such a candidate must have a minimum five years of work experience. However, such candidates need to obtain “No-objection Certificate” from their parent organization in case of employment.
  3. The candidates admitted under Criteria (1) mentioned above will be admitted under PhD(Residential) program and those candidates admitted under Criteria (2) indicated above will be admitted under PhD (for Executives) program.

Entrance Test: All candidates (unless exempted) must take LMTSM Ph.D. Entrance Test.

Shortlisting: Minimum 50% required in entrance + interview; 45% for SC/ST.

Final selection: Merit list based on total test and interview marks.

Fee is paid every semester till thesis submission; maximum total payable ₹3,00,000. Subject to revision.

Ph.D. (Residential):

Monthly fellowship of Rs. 45,000* for 3 years which can be extended up to one year upon the approval of Director, LMTSM.

  • The candidate must be in the top four positions in the final Merit list of selection for admission to the Ph.D. program.
  • The scholar shall secure at least 8.00 CGPA throughout in the Ph.D. course work.
  • The scholar shall have successfully defended their research proposal within the prescribed period as per the Ph.D. program regulations.

Candidates without UGC NET/CAT will receive a fellowship of ₹30,000 per month for 3 years (must clear LMTSM Entrance Test).

All recipients must undertake teaching/evaluation assignments per academic regulations.

Ph.D. (for Executives):

Self-financed; no fellowships/stipends.

Note: The decision of the University/School with respect to the offer of fellowship will be final and binding. The University/School reserves the right to modify the above criteria of fellowship.
